Unlike regular portrait or lifestyle photography, real estate photography is all about showcasing a property’s layout, lighting, and unique selling points. Our real estate photographers in Toronto use HDR techniques and wide-angle lenses to produce bright, true-to-life real estate photos that attract more buyers.

What does HDR stand for in real estate photography?

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It’s a photography technique where multiple exposures are blended together to create a perfectly balanced image. This process ensures that both the bright windows and darker corners of a room are evenly lit, giving your real estate photos a natural, high-quality look that appeals to online buyers.

This is standard in professional real estate photography because it creates natural-looking images that highlight every detail of a property.

What does a real estate photographer do on site?

A real estate photographer arrives prepared to style and capture every room. They’ll plan angles, adjust lighting, and photograph the entire property inside and out. Depending on your package, they may also shoot aerials, video walkthroughs, or a 3D Virtual Tour real estate link.

Do you do Photoshop edits and blue sky replacement?

Yes! Every real estate photo package includes professional editing. This typically covers straightening, lighting adjustments, and colour correction. We also offer optional free blue sky replacements.

We also offer paid add-ons such as virtual staging and virtual twilight photography for the home’s exterior photography.

What is a Reel?

A mobile reel is a short vertical video (usually under 30 seconds) designed for Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. It’s one of the most effective ways to promote a new real estate listing or present your real estate agent brand. We create real estate tiktok style videos and also real estate agent reels that blend lifestyle clips, trending audio, and cinematic shots. It is perfect for boosting your reach and engagement.

What is a Real Estate Video Walkthrough?

A real estate video walkthrough is a cinematic property video that guides viewers through the home.

Unlike 3D virtual tours that require clicking around, a video walkthrough lets potential buyers press play and enjoy a smooth, storytelling experience.

It’s often edited with music that matches the style of the home, agent narration, and/or text callouts to highlight key features. This video can be shared on MLS, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc, and your personal website.

What is Realtor On Camera or a Realtor Intro/Outro?

A Realtor On Camera clip is video of you on camera introducing yourself, and the real estate property. This style of real estate video can be as simple as you saying a few words in the beginning and then closing words in the end. Or it can be a completely custom and creative social media real estate video. We work with your vision and also offer support by reviewing your script in advance and letting you know of any changes.

What is Matterport?

Matterport is a specific camera that utilizes special VR technology. The Matterport camera takes 360 scans from different points in a physical space to create the 3D walkthrough of the property.

Matterport tours in real estate are commonly referred to as 3D virtual tours, 3D walkthroughs, and real estate 3D virtual tours. Matterport tours help to provide buyers with virtual open houses. This means buyers can access the open house from the comfort and safety of their own home. These virtual showings for real estate in Toronto have become an essential marketing tool.

What are the Benefits of Matterport Tours?

There are many benefits to utilizing Matterport’s 3D real estate virtual tours. The main benefit being that Matterport walkthroughs in Toronto have become essential.

What’s the Difference Between a Matterport Walkthrough and Video Walkthrough?

Every so often we get asked: “Do you guys do Matterport Video Tours in Toronto?” so we think it’s important to explain the differences between the two. Matterport 3D Walkthroughs and Video Walkthroughs are not the same type of meda and here are some key differences:

Click here to view a Matterport tour example in Toronto. This tour is immersive and requires the viewer to interact with it and click to get around. The view uses their mouse or the arrow keys on the keyboard to get around and see the entire space. It is meant to be a VR version of an open house. It looks identical to the property and is meant to deliver that realistic experience to the viewer.

Click here to view an example of a Video Walkthrough. Comparing this to the Matterport tour example above, you will see some differences immediately. You’ll notice that the video is not necessarily interactive or immersive. Instead, as a viewer, all you have to do is click play and watch. The video is cinematically shot and it is filmed and edited in a way to highlight the property and its features. There is also trendy music that plays in the background. We actually like to refer to our video walkthroughs as “movie trailers” for your listings.

Another key difference is that with Matterport, you will receive a link that you can share but thereis no file that can be downloaded. You can take the Matterport link and place this in on your MLS listing, in your email marketing, share it with potential buyers, embed this link a website, etc.

Whereas, with video walkthroughs, you will receive a file that is downloadable. You can download this file and then upload the video on social media (Youtube, Linkedin, Instagram), and your MLS listing too of course!

What is the Difference Between a Virtual Tour for Real Estate and 3D Virtual Tour?

A traditional virtual tour is a link to a website that has photos of the property. There’s generally an unbranded version for MLS and a branded version of the virtual tour website. Traditionally, the photos will appear in a photo gallery slideshow that plays with music in the background.

Today, virtual tours are a website dedicated to the property that will include much more than just the photos and a slideshow. All your media will be uploaded on to this website. For example, if you order our Legendary package then you will see the following uploaded to your virtual tour page: Photos, 3D Virtual Tour, Video Walkthrough, and Floor plans. At Odyssey3D, we refer to the traditional virtual tour as a “property website” to help distinguish and make things clear.

A 3D Virtual Tour is a 3D scan of the property. We create a digital 3D Walkthrough of the home that real estate agents and potential home buyers can use as a virtual open house. The 3D Virtual Tour is a separate link and media that gets uploaded onto the property website (formerly called “real estate virtual tours”).
